The only maintenance necessary on the "Original" Doggie-Fountain will be to check and occasionally tighten the two eye-bolts and the u-bolt. Also inspect the 10-24 stainless-steel bolt and ny-lock nut. It is located under the rectangular box. It may come loose after extended use. Also, when tightening the brass "nut" on top of the retangular box, make sure not to overtighten as you may strip the threads in the valve.
If the spring tension is to much for your pet, try removing one of the stainless-steel springs until your pet is more confident with his fountain. You can also go to your local Ace Hardware store and try using a sprig that doesn't have quite the tension that the stainless-steel springs do.
Their stock number is: C-133 It is made by Century Spring. The dimensions are; 7/16" x 2-1/2" x .047
